I'd like Ratchford at Saints but we have no chance of signing Myler.

I was told about Ratchford last season; that we were looking at him.

I find it hard to believe Saints are looking at a young scrum half.

I do too, why? other than we have no confidence in our kids which goes against the chairmans own words on the matter. Saints name comes up when any good player is coming out of contract. We are just used to up contracts, as we are now "cashed up"

I could understand the club moving to secure a highly-experienced player for one season purely to help smooth the transition of kids like Eastmond. Someone like, say, Stacey Jones, who could also offer a wealth of experience to draw from. That's fine, IMO.



But Myler is still a junior himself and thus isn't likely to want to play second fiddle to anyone. If the club signs Myler it's in essence saying it has no confidence in those players charged replacing Long. Certainly not a 'committment to junior development'.

I think it could maybe be good idea to bring in a old head scrum half for 1 year for 1 year.
