< < < < < < < Just realised how much it looks like my pic

This is getting serious . I went for a walk when I finished work today , and have only just got in the house . I did just happen to stumble upon the Pudsey and West Leeds Clandestine Cake Club and spent around an hour with them . A nicer bunch of folk you couldn't wish to meet . There was a table that some folk on here would say was bordering on pornographic such was the array of high-alcohol content cakes on it .

Just hope Sharon comes on and posts a pic or two .



Tip for the CCC . If you are going to remain Clandestine don't put your cakes on a window table . I didn't know where your meeting was being held tonight . Well... Not until I was passing that window

Pages 8 and 9 in the latest Forty-20 magazine . A rather large article giving a brief history of James and Andy .

Just for once I have had some good(ish) luck .

Today I was out walking ( yes , again ) and I got a call to say my 5 yr old daughter had been playing in her gran's garden and had fallen through the greenhouse . I needed to get there quick . Problem was I was miles away .

Fortunately I was only about two miles from the A&E Dept. that she would be going to so it didn't take me long to get to her .

Patched up and full of ice-cream and she is home and gonna be ok . Luckily it is a few scratches here and there , and only one quite nasty cut on her hand .



And I didn't have to walk all the way home .

Bumpety bumpety bump .

That's what I did on Saturday night on Swinnow Lane . Never realised how steep that hill was until I was heading down it on my head . OUCH .

Thanks very muchly to the bloke on the pushbike that rang for help .

One of ours is now none of ours .

I did what I was able . I had quite a few things sorted for arrival and travel through the Leeds postcodes . But I feel that due to the lack of response from others involved it is time for me to withdraw my participation in this event .I have been shot at , bitten , and even knocked over by a car on my travels while preparing . I don't know wether there is a problem oop north , and I do so hope there isn't , but it has been left too long with no contact . I have walked myself into the ground preparing for the challenge , and made numerous attempts at contact to no avail . It has been left too late in the day for me to gather in sponsorship apart from family and close friends (any monies already given to me will be returned) . I have spent a small fortune on equipment required to participate in such an event , and I will use said items (and my new ability to walk for miles and miles) in the near future for the benefit of any charity that is deemed worthy by your goodselves the posters on Southstander.com . No point in letting it all go to waste is there , so get thinking and suggest a good cause for me to walk for .

If the james2odsal walk does go ahead then I wish James and Andy all the best of luck on their adventure .



Now I am going to have a long sit down , crack open a beer , rest my weary feet , and get my mangled leg sorted out .

Like you say I hope everything is alright with Andy and James but at this stage with no information for a while it does seem like it won't be going ahead which is a shame, especially considering you have spent money on it/taken time off work.



Sounds like you may have a career as a professional walker now though mate, just stay away from cars,dogs,guns and hills

People are now finally talking about it on the Bulls forum . Nobody seems to know what is going on . Just hope it is nothing serious happened to Andy or James .

It all seems very mysterious, however you are blameless and its understandable why you have decided that you can't fully commit now, I'd do the same, congratulations on being big enough to step forward in the first place.

I think I did as much as I could . But to be honest I am expecting flak for pulling out . I don't like doing it , but I honestly don't even know if the walk is actually going to happen . Think I am better off cutting my losses and putting it down to experience . At least I now own some decent outdoor gear that I wouldn't have otherwise had .

From tomorrow evening I have 13 days off work and nothing planned . On the plus side I can attend a mate's 60th on Saturday , Gloria's funeral in Goole on Tuesday , and I will be at home for my son's birthday on Thursday . Apart from that I got nothing to do . Might get the mower out and go do all the neighbour's lawns . Anyone on here need their's doing ?
