| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"The record was 4,104 by Terry O'Connor from 24 appearances. Before last nights game James Graham had made 4,417 from 23 appearances. Jamie Peacock was next this season on 3,456 from 24 games. Adrian Morley was on 2,821 from 21.
To put Graham's effort into perspective his front row comrades have made 1,539 (Hargreaves) and 352 (Cayless).
Saints IMO are sacrificing Graham's career longevity for the sake of saving a few quid over the last few and next few seasons. If he carries on doing 4,000 metres a season he'll be goosed by 26.'" Now that sounds very familiar where have a heard that before?
Oh wait thats right Wigan signed him didn't they?

It's an individual award not a team one and Morley has been a consistent top contributor in an underperforming (SL wise) side.

Has he though? Or has he just been solid? He certainly hasn't done much tree pulling in Wire's televised Super League games this year, but I wasn't at the non televised ones so perhaps he has been.
If they want to give it to someone like a Hodgson or Dobson I wouldn't object, they have been consistent all year.
With it being decided by the players it descends into a popularity contest, which IMO could be even more farcical than letting journos with agendas decide. Can you imagine, for example, how many votes are going to go to Leeds players from the ballot papers at Knowsley Road, or vice versa?
I'd love to see a list of each players' vote after it. I bet it would make Eurovision look positively non-politicial.
Another thing. Are the players given a blank form or are they given a short listed tick box?

Can you imagine clubs block voting? I can't as most of the players are evidently a bit daft.
A result list showing the top ten recipients with the percentages they polled would make for interesting reading perhaps.

Just judging from the forums and the reaction since Friday night, I think we're screwed on this but you benefit.
Since Friday we've had to put up with Saints fans making out that the chicken wing was the most blatant and disgusting act ever seen on a RL pitch. Our two Grand Final wins haven't actually been because we outperformed you, they were down to the fact it was raining and all your players were on their periods.
You Lanky's certainly seem to hold grudges, as evidenced by Graham's dummy spitting at the end of the game.
We remember Robbie Mears, Graham Mackay, Pryce smacking Sinfield from behind, Pryce's court visits, Long's betting and desertion of his country, Cunningham's supplement issues etc, but can still see through these incidents to see the talent on show as well.

No one has said that. I started the controversy on here with my post on the VT and it wasn't the actual physical incident that riled me, it was the intent. I think the disgust came from how blatant and how targeted it was. Saints are almost a one man team at the moment with Cayless out and Hargreaves and Fa'asavalu returning from spells injured.
So JJB goes out intentionally to remove said linchpin from the opposition armory. Had that worked a desperate struggle for 80 minutes you could lose (Reference the CC game for evidence) becomes a stroll along Blackpool front.
Imagine, for example Leeds go into the GF with only one halfback. Sinfield is crocked and Burrow unfit. Only McGuire plays. Saints go out and Gilmour chicken wings McGuire early doors or Maurie does the Great Khali head press on him during the wrestle on the floor. Would there not be an outburst of disgust from the Leeds fans? I think there would, obviously a defeat would amplify the bitterness of the backlash, but the anger would still be there.

| Are St Helens really a one man team these days?
I don't think they are with Wellens, Gidley, Pryce, Long, Cunningham, Graham and Roby in there.
It's fairly easy to get Graham off his game without resorting to such illegal tactics anyway.

He does get wound up, but where is the evidence that it deters from his games? He's never been sent off and has never had a bad game for Saints that I can remember.
