One other point on this Rich.. at the time the RL chairmen were asked to vote on this matter to ratify the fact that no punishment would be dished out to London Broncos.. anyone that voted against would force matter to be looked at in more depth..
Tony Chambers, our Chairman at the time was obviously well against this as London had overspent massively on recruiting quite a number of our targets that had been set for Naughton Park before being enticed down to the smoke for bigger sums of money.
He told us that he had been 'heavily' lent on, threatened even, by Richard Lewis to vote for no punishment.. Lewis also promised us a reprieve from relegation the year that Catalan were introduced... an ace up our sleeve!!
Tony did not vote for or against but abstained.. we were relegated anyway.
