The whole entrance thing was a farce. We were told to buy tickets in advance to save £1 and to save queuing, yet on arrival the pay gates had no queues and the ticket only turnstile was 20 deep, the jobsworth muppet of a steward couldnt understand my gripe when I raised it with him.



Caught sight of the Deputy Cheif Steward at the end, so asked him, his response was Cas only expected 500 Fax fans as thats the amount of tickets they sent, so it was our fault. He was the biggest muppet of the lot. Probably couldn't wait to get home to his Wife/Sister.



The Woman on the gate was equally inept, shouting "does anyone know what a Halifax Junior Ticket is?" down the queue. Not rocket science really is it?

That's because the Halifax season tickets didn't have a designated voucher for the game. Whereas the Castleford Junior season tickets have vouchers saying Challenge Cup 4th Round, 5th Round, Quarter Final etc. The Halifax booklets had Voucher A, Voucher B, Voucher C etc. Half of those with season tickets had Voucher A's missing, some had Voucher B's missing.



Thern, when you bear in mind Voucher B (or C, or whatever) may be for a future cup game or for allocation of play off tickets, well you don't want to take the wrong one because thats a lot of upset Halifax fans come play off time.



Not sure how true this is but Halifax failed to inform Castleford that their season ticket booklets didn't have designated vouchers. Hope that clears things up. And no I wasn't the woman on the gate

And indeed were inspected during the course of the match by a Castleford official, Halifax offical and I presume an RFL official.

That's fair enough.

I'm not aware of RFL Officials ever checking during a game, and a lot of what goes on re ticket money is put down to trust. Unfortunately there are some who abuse the trust.

There was more than one ticket-only turnstile. For some reason, you all chose to try and get through the one by the Arthur Atkinson gates, causing a huge queue. I entered through one at the Wheldon Road End and found hardly any queue

I was at the Turnstile on Wheldon Road.

One of the 'Deliverance' stewards directed us all to that gate.

Was funny being told by the lone woman working in the burger van near the beer tent that she was alone as she has been there 12yrs & knew that she would be able to cope with the amount of fans they were expecting!



Looking at all of us in the pic's & video... simply amazing turnout! I dont care if some of the people who came are "glory hunters" as they cant have failed to have been impressed by us & they will get down to the Shay on Sunday.

If Cas honestly believe we were only taking 500 fans then they clearly are a set of planks, I don't know how they cope when they play the likes of Leeds, Bradford & Hull KR





Still, a few small hiccups and bad organisation didnt spoil what was a good day out.
