You, Sir, are an embarrassment to this message board. I, and I suspect others, wouldn't miss you if you were to refrain from posting on this forum. However, it is your choice to look a complete and utter pi11ock, and I defend your right to be one.

| Even without Widnes's sporting director, or whatever his titles is, still couldnt believe how much the commentators, mainly Bill Arthur, was praising Widnes for their kids coming through etc. We didnt really get much praise imo, despite beating, convincingly, the team that they put out against us.

Tezza was up at the back of the East Stand through the game, couldn't see whether he had his hand up Bill Arthur's backside, controlling him. He spent most of the game with gritted teeth, put that down to Fax outplaying Widnes but realise he must have secretly been doing Bill's commentary.

| Commentators are right.
The Widnes youth set-up is good.
Even though we used to beat them every year come Grand Final time...

It might be, but Sky shouldn't give them the platform ever week to preach about Widnes and how much money Stephen O'Connor is putting in, pundits and commentators should be impartial!!

They do have a good set up. Their U18's are mixing and matching with the best of their SL counterparts. However, it's converting that talent into first grade regularity that's the difficult bit. Halifax obviously gave up the expense, having conquered the league regularly but having none of the conversion success. Widnes can afford it and it aids their license application but it will be interesting to see the success of their conversion rates. For all that they bang on about their "yoof" policy, it'll be the big money signings that they make in 2011 that determine their survival or success in Super League.

But all that ever comes up is that they still have one and we no longer do. It's alright everyone going on about widnes doing themselves an injustice on the pitch, but when it comes to talk of licences they have everything else. Even the finances to self-support even if the unthinkable happens and they find themselves getting panned for a couple of seasons.
That's why they're going up.

They're doing exactly what the RFL require - aided by the money brought by SOC. They know that what happens on the pitch doesn't really matter. Having a Northern Rail winners trophy doesn't translate into on-field success, (and neither does having a GF appearance, before anyone jumps on my back). But we know all this and deep down we know that Widnes are the only club currently outside SL who could compete in SL. What riles me is how the game has dismissed the importance of on-field matters and in turn, dismissed the very validy of The Championship competition. Featherstone are the best performing team this year but no-one is giving them a second thought because they're not SL material. We should be talking about Fev and how we can try and overcome their dominance this year but we're not. We're talking about youth policies, terracing and box ticking. We're talking about the crazyness of a club in seventh position being the only viable candidates for "promotion".

| I didn't think they were too bad the other night. Obviously praised the Widnes young lads but at end of the game it was those young lads that played better than the older players so they should get plaudits for that!
