Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors fans are set to create the biggest attendance of the First Utility Super League season so far when the side’s meet tonight at Headingley Carnegie.

With the South Stand and Carnegie Stand terrace already sold out, Leeds Rhinos are also set for a record Super League crowd against their old rivals Wigan when the Warriors arrive at Headingley Carnegie tonight, kick off 8pm.

Leeds and Wigan games are one of the oldest rivalries in the sport with the two teams having won seven of the last eight Super League titles. The record attendance in Super League at Headingley Carnegie for a game against Wigan is 18,769 set back in 2008 but with fans keen to see the action this Friday, that figure is already under threat from pre-sold tickets.

Fans will be able to pay on the night at the turnstiles for entry to the Western Terrace, with gates opening at 5pm and a full night of entertainment in store with a St Patrick's Day theme. Entry is £22 for adults, £15 for concessions and just £12 for juniors.

Head of Marketing Abigail Furniss commented, "The game against Wigan is always a fixture that fans circle on the fixture calendar as a 'must see' match. It would be a tremendous message to send out if we can break our Super League record against Wigan. Wigan have already sold over 1,000 tickets so it will be a great atmosphere. We have been contacted by a number of fans who are coming for the first time to see a Super League game which highlights the appeal of a Leeds v Wigan clash."

Gates will be open at 5pm on Friday and there will be plenty of Irish entertainment on offer as we celebrate St Patrick's Day! Irish dancers will be performing in both the opening and half time spectacles, there will be traditional Irish music from Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann before the game kicks off and an Irish flag pitch parade will take place at half time. As always, Ronnie the Rhino will be making his famous appearance and there will be performances from the Spencer Properties Dance Team.
