| The Wigan Riversiders returned back to the top of the RL Merit League with an emphatic 92-6 victory over the Scunthorpe Barbarians. | Summer Fundraiser Sat 5th July 2008 |
Get this into your diary, planner what ever you use. The Riversiders are holding a mid summer shindig in order to raise money for the newly formed club who are currently mid way through there first ever summer RL season.
A feast of Rugby League, Live Music, Cheap Beer and good food will be all to enjoy. We shall also be holding our famous raffles with a good selection of prizes. Have a READ MORE to see whats happening on the day.

| Scunthorpe Away - Coach Travel |
The Riversiders make there longest away journey of the season this weekend when the travel East to face Scunthorpe Barbarians in the RL Merit League.
The coach will be leaving Wigan Tech/Big Wheel at 0930 Saturday morning. And will be at a cost of £6 per person.
Players ask around your friends and family. Our away days are always good fun. |

| Wigan Riversiders 22 Moorends Thorne 20 |
An excellent game down at parsons meadow saw the Riversiders take the spoils in a close well fought game. The Riversiders showed there metal in keeping the leagues best attacking side try-less in the second half and took the game 22-20.
Tries from Dave Morton, Craig Hogan, Geoff Whittle & Johny Blan ensured the victory against one of the Merit League unbeaten sides. A full match report will follow early in the week. |

The Riversiders go into this league match off the back off a good battling victory over the German Exciles plus a weeks rest after a free week in the fixture calander.
The Riversiders are set for arguably the toughest test there going to get this season against the Mauraders team who come into this game undefeated this season. |

| The gap in the fixture list has been filled with a long away trip to play the Scunthorpe Barbarians on Sat 28th June. The game will kick off at 1245. A coach will be booked by the club for the trip. More information on this will be posted next week. |

| Riversiders go top of the Merit League !! |
Yesterdays win over the German Exiles pushed the Riversiders into pole position in the merit league, maybe only for a week as have no game next week. But its a credit to the lads to be top of the pile after 6 games in our debut season. Well done to all involved and lets continue this till the end of the regular season and into the play offs.
